All school and after-school activities have been canceled for Spring Lake Park Schools after a suspected ransomware attack.

According to the school district, the closure includes all childcare and community education programs.

The district said several school technology systems are down and that its team confirmed an “outside actor” gained access to district systems in the incident.

The staff shut down all systems to prevent further access, including those that would have been for a safe day of school on Monday, said the district.

“We have been working with third-party cybersecurity experts and law enforcement today and will continue throughout the night. We will be working to restore all systems as quickly as possible,” said the school district.
