Rapid7 is reducing its workforce by approximately 12% as the cybersecurity company restructures around its core platform and increases investment in AI-powered security operations.

The company initiated the restructuring during the second quarter of 2026 to streamline its organizational structure and better align resources with its Core Platform Solutions. Approximately 12% of Rapid7 employees were notified that their positions would be affected. Rapid7 expects restructuring charges of approximately $10 million to $11 million, primarily consisting of severance and related employee costs.

The restructuring is occurring alongside an explicit shift toward an AI-first platform strategy. Rapid7 has added a new leadership team that includes CFO Rafe Brown, Chief Commercial Officer Allan Peters and Chief Product and Technology Officer Dejan Deklich, with Deklich tasked with helping build the company’s AI-first platform.

Rapid7 has also gained access to OpenAI’s Trusted Access for Cyber program, integrating models such as GPT-5.5 into its Agentic SOC workflows. The company said the technology has helped accelerate telemetry triage and reduce false-positive queue times by 25%. Rapid7 separately joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to support defensive engineering, deep code reviews and automated vulnerability patching.

The company reported $210.9 million in quarterly revenue and $824 million in ARR, both down modestly year over year. Rapid7 generated $31.9 million of free cash flow and ended June with $702.6 million of cash, cash equivalents and government securities.
