Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 28,000 of its 2025 Broncos due to issues with the child safety lock not preventing the door from opening.
“The left-hand rear door may be able to be opened from inside the vehicle when the child safety lock is in the ‘ON’ position,” the June 16 recall report reads. This can result in injuries for those sitting in the second row.
Ford is recalling roughly 27,768 Bronco four-door vehicles that were produced Jan. 21 through April 29 of this year.
As a remedy, dealers will inspect and replace the rear door latch, as necessary, free of charge, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed out on Monday, June 23.
