REDDING, Calif. — A convicted child predator from Laos, ordered removed from the United States in 2005, was arrested last month during an immigration enforcement operation in Redding, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced.
The operation occurred in August 2026. The ICE Fugitive Operations team said Kao Wang Saechao, a Laos national, was convicted of sexually abusing a child under 14 years old in Shasta County as well as DUI in Sacramento. An immigration judge ordered him removed in 2005.
“Child predators have NO PLACE to hide. ICE will hunt them down, arrest them and DEPORT them,” the agency wrote in its release.
ICE did not provide information about his current custody status.
