Roblox players are petitioning for the CEO of Roblox Corporation, David Baszucki, to be replaced after a YouTuber trying to catch sexual predators online was accused of “digital vigilantism” and banned.
If there’s one thing that we all know about Roblox, it’s that it’s a very dangerous place for children to play online, which is a big deal since it’s literally the biggest platform out there. For years now, there have been reports of children being exploited on Roblox by predators, which is an ongoing battle that Roblox Corp has been attempting (poorly) to fight for years.
In fact, it was reported just a few months ago by agency Revealing Reality that Roblox is still a dangerous place for children to play online. While Roblox Corp struggles to do much about the exploitation, one YouTuber by the name of Schlep has been trying to catch out predators and highlighted his attempts in his videos. That’s come to a stop recently, however.
YouTuber Schlep’s Roblox Ban Has Led To A Major Petition With Over 50k Signatures
“The Children Of Roblox Are At Stake”
As pointed out by Massively Overpowered earlier today, Schlep’s recent ban was highlighted in a video on his channel, where he reveals that Roblox Corp accused his efforts of being “digital vigilantism”. Roblox Corp said that the efforts could “leave bad actors on the platform longer” in reaction to videos being posted about them.
This led to Schlep being issued a cease and desist order from Roblox Corp and even being threatened with a lawsuit for breaking the game’s terms of service. Schlep’s ban hasn’t been taken well at all by fans of the platform, as a petition has been started on Change.org by a 14-year-old who wants to see CEO David Baszucki replaced.
The petition, which is currently sitting at over 50,000 signatures as of the time of writing, was started earlier this week and is already gaining a lot of traction. It was started by MrMhGaming, who points out that Roblox is “supposed to be a safe and creative space for children”, something that’s been “compromised” under the leadership of Baszucki.

It’s not clear whether the 50k signatures on the petition are going to be enough to prompt a response from Roblox or Baszucki, but it’s continuing to rise as each day passes. If nothing else, it shows how a lot of the game’s playerbase feels about the platform and what it’s like to be on there right now.
