The Norwegian Parliament’s website was the target of a DDoS attack. A Russian hacker group claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to NTB, problems accessing the website began around 3:00 p.m. local time on Monday. Due to the attack, the site experienced significant traffic and partially stopped working.
Russian hackers stated on their Telegram channel that they plan to keep the website under attack for about three hours.
Norway has faced cyberattacks on multiple occasions. Targets have included, among others, the BankID system and other digital and critical infrastructure sites. Last year, there were also reports of an attack on the Bremanger Dam, after which water flowed freely through the structure for four hours.
The Storting itself was the victim of a cyberattack in 2020.

The pro-Russian group Server Killers carried out a series of cyberattacks on Norway’s public sector. As a result of the attack, dozens of the country’s government services were down for three days, and information about the national budget was leaked.
McKesson, an American distributor of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, confirmed unauthorized access to several of its accounts on cloud services and the extraction of data. The company also warned that the incident could cause intermittent service disruptions.
