MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov is taking part in the meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov with the ministers of internal affairs and public security of the SCO member states, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the pressing challenges of today, including those related to the rapid development of digital technologies. The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening information security and jointly countering cyberthreats,” the ministry said.
Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that the meeting is taking place at a symbolic moment: the 25th anniversary of the organization and Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship, held under the motto “25 Years of the SCO: Together Toward Sustainable Peace, Development, and Prosperity”.
In this context, he noted that amid the profound transformation of the international system and the crisis of global stability, the SCO remains resilient and serves as a reliable mechanism for strengthening trust and security.
Speaking about modern challenges, the president pointed out that the criminal world is actively adopting artificial intelligence, automating cyberattacks, using disinformation, and creating new channels for illegal financial flows. The Kyrgyz leader stressed that this is precisely why practical steps to strengthen the SCO’s institutional framework are of particular importance.
