SecureSky has acquired Soveren, adding real-time Data Security Posture Management technology to its exposure management and AI-powered Managed Detection and Response platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Soveren’s technology gives SecureSky continuous sensitive-data discovery, classification and protection across cloud-native and on-premises environments.
The platform combines eBPF-powered network analysis with machine-learning-based classification to monitor how sensitive information moves through an organization.
Soveren says its technology delivers 98% accuracy and can inspect and classify encrypted TLS traffic at scale without affecting application performance.
The acquisition expands SecureSky beyond security posture and threat detection by providing a real-time view of sensitive information both at rest and in motion.
The combined platform is intended to help customers understand not only where vulnerabilities and exposures exist, but also what data is moving through those environments and whether security controls are protecting it appropriately.
SecureSky plans to combine Soveren’s machine-learning-driven DSPM capabilities with its patented AI-based Continuous Threat Exposure Management platform.
Soveren was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in London.
The company was created by founders who previously encountered data-observability challenges while scaling an e-commerce company to $2 billion in revenue.
Its technology is used by companies including Booking Holdings businesses Agoda and OpenTable.
Soveren previously raised $10 million from investors including founders and executives associated with Airbnb, Slack, Datadog, Palo Alto Networks, MuleSoft and Deel, along with Sir Richard Branson’s family, firstminute capital, Northzone and LocalGlobe.
SecureSky provides exposure management and MDR capabilities spanning cloud security posture management, SaaS security posture management, managed XDR, Microsoft Sentinel and Continuous Threat Exposure Management.
