DANVILLE, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Seniors in Vermilion County will have an opportunity to learn how to recognize and report common scams at an upcoming fraud prevention seminar in Danville.
The event will focus on protecting older adults from scam artists, fraudulent businesses, identity theft and phone spoofing. Organizers say scammers often rely on tactics such as manipulation, high-pressure sales and impersonation to target victims.
Attendees will also learn how to report suspected fraud and protect themselves from future scams.
The seminar will be held Monday, July 20, at CRIS Healthy Aging. More information is available on the organization’s website.
