A sexual predator has been jailed on numerous registration violations, including failure to report his employment at a restaurant in The Villages.

A deputy received a tip that May had been riding a motorcycle and the deputy began to do a little research, according to an arrest report. The deputy learned that May had the opportunity to register the motorcycle at seven of his mandatory registrations extending from October 2023 to April 2025. As a sexual predator, he is required by law to register four times per year and update all of his information, including address, employment and vehicle ownership.

The deputy also checked May’s earned wages through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database. The inquiry revealed that May had worked at the Tap House restaurant at Buffalo Ridge Plaza from September to February. He worked at Bella Vita restaurant at Spanish Springs Town Square from February to March. He failed to report his employment at Bella Vita. He is no longer employed by either restaurant, the report said.

May was convicted in 2010 in Sumter County of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim between 12 and 15 years of age as well as possession of a photo showing sexual performance by a child. In 2011, he was convicted of lewd and lascivious molestation of a 9-year-old child in Lake County. At the time of the Lake County arrest, he was working at at Beef O’Brady’s restaurant in Wildwood. As a result of the three convictions, he was placed on probation for a total of 15 years.

When he was arrested this past week on the registration violations, May told the deputy he was “not a criminal.”
