The Shasta County District Attorney is once again working to keep convicted child sexual predator Robert Barber, 86, behind bars ahead of an Elder Parole Hearing this Friday at 8:30 a.m. Barber, who was originally sentenced to 73 years on 32 counts of abusing boys, will face a parole board alongside more than 50 opposing letters from the community — and at least 1 surviving victim who plans to speak.
