ANDERSON, Calif. – Detectives from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrested an Anderson man as part of an undercover sting operation.

Authorities say that the Major Crimes Unit had been communicating with 28-year-old Jayden Rosenstein of Anderson through a decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl on an online platform.

Rosenstein sent explicit messages and attempted to arrange a meeting for sexual relations with the decoy, leading to a felony arrest warrant being issued on Friday.

Detectives apprehended Rosenstein without incident at a predetermined location after Rosenstein arrived at the location for the purposes of having sexual relations with the minor.

Upon his arrest, detectives served a search warrant at Rosenstein’s residence. Authorities say that detectives discovered that Rosenstein’s residence was also an active in-home daycare. Detectives found unsecured firearms and cannabis-related contraband within reach of children at the residence.

The children under care at the residence were handed over to their legal guardians. Two children living in the home were placed in protective custody with Shasta County Child Family Services. The Child Care Licensing Agency was notified of the situation.

Rosenstein faces multiple charges, including distributing harmful material to a minor, arranging to meet with a minor for sexual intent, and two counts of child endangerment. His bail is set at $250,000.
