A 60-year-old Dearborn Heights man is facing felony charges as an alleged online predator who tried to meet up with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl in Highland Township.
Bradley Kyle Martin is charged with using a computer/internet to commit a crime — a 10-year felony — and accosting a child for immoral purposes, a four-year felony.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued the charges based on an online child predator investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, officials said.
At his arraignment Thursday in 52-1 District Court, bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety with no 10% provision.
Martin was booked into the Oakland County Jail on June 22 where he remains as of June 25. He’s due back in court on July 8 for a probable cause conference; a preliminary exam is scheduled for a week later. Both are to be held before Judge Travis Reeds.
“We have zero tolerance for predators of children,” Sheriff Mike Bouchard stated in a news release. “Anyone that has information about a person targeting a child should contact the sheriff’s office immediately in such situations. We will investigate and prosecute individuals involved in predatory activity to the fullest extent of the law.”
An investigation continues.
