BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. — Several people face charges in connection with a child predator sting in Bradford County.
Investigators say a pastor and five men were identified as being involved in the possession, distribution, and production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
North Rome Wesleyan Church (NRWC) released a statement on Facebook following the arrest of Assistant Pastor Rev. Brad Swink on Thursday. They say they are cooperating with authorities in the investigation. Swink’s credentials and role at the church have been suspended.
“NRWC strictly abides by PA regulations for clearances and background checks for those that work with children and youth,” noted the church. “In regards to Rev. Swink, the necessary clearances and checks were in place.”
Robert Michel of Wysox, Calvin Shaffer of Wyalusing, Evan Hitchcock of Rome, Brandon Lantz of Athens, Brad Swink of Rome, and Robert Pillot of Canton all face charges, including the possession of child sex abuse material.
Shaffer and Pillot face additional charges for distributing CSAM and Swink for producing CSAM.
