South Korea plans to launch a sovereign AI model focused on cybersecurity by the end of 2026 to strengthen its response to growing digital security threats, according to Yonhap, citing government sources. The announcement was made by science and ICT minister Bae Kyung-hoon during a policy briefing chaired by president Lee Jae Myung. The minister said the model would be developed by training the country’s existing sovereign AI model on cybersecurity-related data.
