SHREVEPORT, La. — A six-day operation last week targeting suspected online predators resulted in six arrests, Shreveport police said today in a news release.
The Shreveport Police Department’s Vice Unit teamed up with Safe from Online Sex Abuse (SOSA)to focus on those who allegedly exploit underage victims.
“This operation required extensive intelligence gathering and online engagement, with SOSA volunteers dedicating countless hours in various chat groups to identify and interact with potential offenders. Their efforts were instrumental in ensuring the success of the operation, as coordinating the arrests of these individuals requires significant online presence and investigative work,” Cpl. Chris Bordelon said.
As a result of this operation, the following individuals were arrested:
· Benjamin Picket, 44, indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor
· Christopher Thomas, 31, indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor
· Bryan Stephens, 30, indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor
· Hayden Day, 26, purchase of commercial sexual activity
· Corey Lilly, 43, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and resisting an officer
