Spring Lake Park Schools are closed Monday due to a suspected ransomware incident.
The school district canceled classes, child care, community education and after-school activities because several school technology systems are down, the district announced Sunday.
The district’s technology team on Sunday “confirmed that an outside actor gained access to some school district systems in a suspected ransomware incident,” the district said in a statement. “Our staff immediately shut all systems down to prevent further access. Systems that are currently not available include those needed to safely have school on Monday. Safety is a top priority.”
Spring Lake Schools are working with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement, and said they would provide an update on Monday.
