Coudersport, Pa. — Free child passenger safety seat checks will be offered in Potter County through an upcoming event aimed at improving child safety on the road.
The program is being hosted by the Pennsylvania State Police Coudersport barracks in partnership with the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department.
Safety checks will be available on Wednesday, May 13, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Friday, May 15, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the fire department, 171 Port Allegany Road.
The service is free and open to the public. The effort is designed to increase proper seat belt and child safety seat use across the state.
Attendees are asked to bring their child safety seat, vehicle manual, and the seat’s instruction manual. Each inspection is expected to take about 30 minutes per seat.
Anyone who cannot attend on those dates but would still like a seat checked can call the Coudersport barracks at 814-274-8690 for more information.
