The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office arrested multiple people following a multi-day undercover operation targeting online child exploitation. Deputies posed as minors online from July 22 through July 24, arresting suspects who showed up to a local hotel believing they were meeting underage children — with more details expected at a press conference on August 7.
YUBA CITY, Calif. — The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office arrested multiple people in a multi-day undercover operation targeting those seeking to sexually exploit children online.
The operation, called Operation Cyber Shield, ran from July 22 through July 24.
According to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement personnel posed as minors 13 years of age or younger while communicating with people through online platforms. Suspects were lured to a local hotel under the belief they were meeting an underage child.
Upon their arrival, they were taken into custody by law enforcement personnel. The operation resulted in numerous arrests.
Investigators are currently finalizing reports, confirming arrest totals and reviewing the details of each case. Because follow-up investigations are ongoing, additional information is not yet available.
The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office will host a media press conference on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Ag Conference Room, 142 Garden Highway, Yuba City.
