‘The View’ Guest Co-Host Whitney Cummings Roasts Kash Patel After His Personal Email Got Hacked: “If Kash Wanted His Emails Not To Get Released, He Should Have Just CC’ed Jeffrey Epstein” | #hacker

Whitney Cummings joined The View this morning for the start of her guest co-hosting stint this week, and got some laughs from both the Hot Topics Table and the studio audience while teasing FBI Director Kash Patel.

Whoopi Goldberg opened up a segment on Monday’s episode of about the FBI director’s personal email reportedly getting hacked by an organization linked to Iran. After noting that the Trump administration has experienced other “tech glitches,” Goldberg asked her co-hosts if they are “surprised things aren’t more secure, especially after signal-gate.”

“I mean, if Kash wanted his emails not to get released, he should have just CC’ed Jeffrey Epstein on them,” Cummings joked, referring to how significantly redacted the Epstein files are that have been released.

Sunny Hostin agreed, “Correct.”

As The View‘s studio audience gave Cummings a round of applause for her quip, Goldberg added, “Well said.”

Hostin chimed in with a more serious take, admitting that she thinks “it’s a little scary” that despite all of Patel’s responsibilities pertaining to counterterrorism and security, he “has a Gmail account that’s able to be hacked.”

“All people talked about [was] Hillary [Clinton] and them emails, Hillary’s emails. What about Kash’s emails?” she said. “I feel more unsafe now, in terms of the way we are handling our information, than ever before.”

While Hostin said “we don’t know which country actually hacked” Patel’s personal email, she explained that “Iranian hackers are taking responsibility” for it. Sara Haines added that “it was hosted on a Russian website.”

Hostin continued, “This is dangerous. Of course we know that he is unqualified, but now he’s making this country less safe.”

Ana Navarro said she “always assume[s] that anyone can get hacked,” though she noted that “you would think there’s a different standard for the director of the FBI.”

“And I think people are right to ask themselves if the director of the FBI can get hacked, what about the rest of us? But to tell you the truth, I’m a lot less concerned about his Gmail than I am about his incompetence and his corruption flying all over the country on FBI planes so he can go watch his girlfriend sing the Star Spangled Banner.”

Cummings teased of Patel, “It’s actually amazing that the most embarrassing things we’ve seen are interviews he scheduled and wanted to go out.”

Goldberg laughed, teasing that she “tr[ies] not to give him very much thought.”

“It’s too funny. Too sad, but incredibly funny,” she added. “You don’t know that there’s going to be a problem, you don’t know that people are trying to hack you. Just go back to bed!”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
