Tricentis has appointed cybersecurity executive Erika Dean as chief information security officer, putting her in charge of the company’s global security strategy as enterprises increase their use of AI across software development and testing workflows.
Dean will oversee enterprise cybersecurity, compliance and product security at Tricentis, with responsibilities spanning the company’s internal operations and the security of software deployed within customer environments. Her mandate also includes software supply chain security, governance and cyber resilience.
She joins Tricentis with more than 20 years of cybersecurity leadership experience across financial services and technology. Dean previously held security leadership roles at Robinhood and Capital One, where her work included building programs designed to protect technology environments while supporting business growth and operational resilience.
At Tricentis, that experience will be applied to a software quality platform increasingly incorporating AI and autonomous capabilities into enterprise development processes. The company’s Agentic Quality Engineering Platform is designed to automate software testing and quality workflows across large and complex application environments.
The expansion of AI within those workflows creates additional security requirements. As AI systems participate more directly in software development, testing and release processes, companies must control what systems and data those tools can access while maintaining visibility into automated activity and the software artifacts moving through development pipelines.

Dean said Tricentis operates at a point in the software development lifecycle where quality, security and governance increasingly intersect. Her role will include working across the company to develop enterprise and product security programs around those requirements.
Software supply chain security will be one area of focus. Modern enterprise applications can depend on interconnected development tools, cloud services, third-party components and automated pipelines, creating multiple points where security controls must operate without materially slowing software delivery.
The introduction of agentic systems adds another operational layer. Organizations adopting AI-driven testing and development tools need to establish how agents are governed, which actions they can perform and how their output is evaluated before software reaches production.
For Tricentis, product security therefore becomes closely connected to the platform’s broader quality engineering function. Enterprises using automated testing to increase release frequency still need assurance that faster development processes do not weaken security, compliance or governance controls.

Dean’s appointment comes as Tricentis expands its positioning around agentic quality engineering. The company provides automated and codeless testing capabilities intended to support both agile software development and complex enterprise applications, including environments where organizations are introducing AI into existing development operations.
Tricentis has more than 3,000 customers, including Experian, T-Mobile, Jaguar Land Rover, Allianz, Telstra, Dolby and VodafoneZiggo.
As those customers introduce more automation into software engineering, Tricentis must manage security at two levels: protecting its own enterprise and product infrastructure while giving customers confidence that the platform can operate within their security and compliance requirements.
Dean’s appointment places those responsibilities under a dedicated security leader as Tricentis scales its AI-based quality engineering platform. Her mandate centers on making security part of the infrastructure supporting automated software delivery rather than a separate control applied after development, with product security, software supply chain protection and governance increasingly integrated into how the company develops and deploys its technology.
