LINDSAY, Okla. –

Two kids are under investigation for making potential threats against Lindsay Public Schools on social media.

The Lindsay Police Department said they identified the two kids responsible for posts with the potential threats that were made on TikTok.

Officials said they’re submitting their findings now to juvenile services for review.

Out of an abundance of caution, the department says there will be an increased police presence at all schools in the Lindsay District Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Other school districts in Cleveland, Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties also had increased police presence at their schools Monday, Aug. 31 due to anonymous social media posts making potential threats.

Officials said many of those threats appear to be part of an online “Cat and the Hat” trend prompting investigations across the country.

Affected districts said they’re taking every potential threat seriously and will continue working with law enforcement as the investigations continue.
