Ubisoft and SCREEN JUICE have announced that their roguelike hack-and-slash game Morbid Metal will launch in Early Access on April 8, 2026, for PC via Steam. The game will be available at a limited-time launch price of $13.49, before increasing to $17.99.
Morbid Metal lets players shapeshift between multiple characters in real time, chaining combos. The Early Access version includes three playable characters, multiple biomes, and various enemies and systems designed for consistent uniqueness across runs.
A major focus is on mid-run customization. You can gain perks, modify abilities, and trigger special effects. There are also risk-reward mechanics like Devil Bargains, shops, and optional challenges.
Outside of runs, the game features meta progression systems, including unlocking new abilities, building synergies, and upgrading a skill tree called the Void Nexus. A lore codex is also included.
The Early Access roadmap will be revealed on April 17 during the Find Your Next Game Showcase, with more content and features planned over time.
