(FOX40.COM) — An undercover operation that targeted child predators led to the arrest of a school employee in Northern California.

On July 3, Alejandro Figuerosa, 29, of Rancho Cordova was arrested for allegedly contacting a minor with the intent to commit sex crimes. The arrest stemmed from a month-long undercover investigation where officers posed as a minor online. Deputies said Figuerosa contacted the profile and thought he was chatting with a juvenile female.

According to ECSO, Figuerosa drove to the El Dorado Hills Town Center on three occasions and attempted to meet up with her. During the investigation, ECSO said it discovered that Figuerosa was employed with the Washington Unified School District in Yolo County.
Subsequently, ECSO contacted the school district and the West Sacramento Police Department. According to law enforcement, no victims have been identified at the school where he worked.

Figuerosa was booked into the El Dorado County Jail, Placerville, with no bail. He faces charges of contacting a minor to commit felonies, attempted kidnapping, sending harmful matter to a minor, and other related offenses.
