Nine alleged child sex offenders in Dauphin County were arrested last weekend during Pennsylvania State Police’s Operation “Wrong Place.”

During the operation, undercover troopers posted ads on a website called “Skip the Games.” State police said the site is “used to meet people, often for the purpose of getting together for sex,” according to affidavits.

When people reached out via the website, the undercover troopers told them they were 15 years old.

Still, several people reportedly made plans to meet up with who they believed was a 15-year-old girl and offered to pay her to perform sex acts.

The troopers would have the people meet them at nearby gas stations, where they were then arrested.

State police released the names of the following individuals who were arrested during the weekend operation:

  • Andrew William Smeltz, 54, of Lykens, Pennsylvania
  • Juan C. Martinez, 36, of Lykens
  • Phillip James Beamesderfer, 39, of Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania
  • Louis Damian Rodriguez-Aldaz, 48, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania
  • Aaron Lee Flemming, 48, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania
  • Kevin Leigh Appleby, 53, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
  • Marvin Antonio Flores-Juarez, 33, of Waldorf, Maryland
  • Jonathan Ray Behney, 64, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania
  • Kenneth L. Bretz, 73, of Harrisburg

Their charges include unlawful contact with minors, promoting prostitution of minors and related offenses.

State police said they still have other ongoing investigations as a result of the operation.
