ALGER COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) – An undercover operation in Alger County resulted in the arrest of two people for charges related to child sexually abusive material.
A press release from the Alger County Sheriff’s Office says on March 13, an undercover operation designed to target child predators through online chat rooms resulted in the arrest of Anthony Drown of East Jordan, and Bob Nesim of Levittown, Pa.
Each defendant was charged with child sexually abusive activity, accosting a minor for immoral purposes and multiple counts of using a computer to commit a crime. The release says the statutory maximum on the highest count is 20 years.
They were each arraigned on March 15, before the 93rd District Court in Munising. Bond was set at $200,000 for Drown and $150,000 for Nesim.
On April 1, Nesim waived his preliminary examination. On April 20, Drown waived his preliminary examination. Drown is scheduled to appear in the 11th Circuit Court on May 8, and Nesim is scheduled to appear on May 15.

The operation was conducted by law enforcement personnel from the Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Munising City Police Department, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Forsyth Township Police Department.
