Uzbekistan and China are moving to deepen cooperation on counterterrorism, cybercrime and other forms of transnational crime following high-level security talks in Beijing.
During his official visit to China, Uzbek Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov met with Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong, according to Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen joint efforts against terrorism and extremism, illegal drug trafficking, organized crime and other forms of transnational criminal activity.
The talks also focused on exchanging experience in cybersecurity and digital forensics, as both countries look to expand practical cooperation between their law enforcement agencies.
The ministers agreed to continue implementing a 2026-2027 roadmap for cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and China.
The plan is aimed at maintaining regular coordination and expanding practical cooperation in areas of mutual security interest.
Uzbekistan and China also agreed to further develop cooperation between their interior and public security ministries within the “Central Asia-China” format.
