VICTORIA, Texas – On Aug. 13 at 5 p.m., the Victoria Municipal Court will host its final Child Safety Grant Program workshop via Zoom.

Applicants interested in fine-tuning their applications before the deadline are encouraged to attend. Attendance is not required but will be considered during the review process.

The application is available online and due by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15. The program is open to local nonprofits seeking funding for child safety initiatives, such as child abuse intervention and prevention programs, and drug and alcohol abuse prevention programs for children.

Funding comes from the child safety fee residents pay when registering their vehicles in Victoria County. By law, these funds must be used for child safety and welfare services.

Grant award decisions will be announced Aug. 29.
