VIDEO: Langley RCMP share back-to-school safety reminders

As students get ready to return to class, Langley RCMP are reminding drivers and students about safety rules around local schools.
School zones are back in effect, meaning drivers need to follow the posted 30 km/h speed limit.
“We want to ensure that everyone is going under the 30 km/h speed limit posted in the school zones when kids go back to school,” said Const. Peter Mann.
Police are also reminding students to leave e-dirt bikes and e-scooters at home this school year.
“Leave e-dirt bikes and e-scooters at home. They’re no longer allowed on Langley school property. If you have any questions, contact your local school,” said Const. Dennis Bell.
Students walking to and from school are also being reminded to use marked crosswalks when crossing the road near their schools.
“A gentle reminder to students, please use marked crosswalks when crossing the road near your school,” police said.
The Langley RCMP thanked the community for helping keep local streets safe and wished students a good school year.
