SHORT and Sweet star Vuyokazi Nguqu (41) says she protects her mental health by standing up to cyber bullies.
The Cape Town-based reality TV star said she has endured years of bullying on social media, mainly because of her condition.
Affectionately known as Vovo, Vuyokazi lives with growth hormone deficiency, which resulted in dwarfism.
She once revealed that a doctor told her when she was eight years old that she had stopped growing.
Vovo said she was too young to understand what it meant at the time.
She said the bullying started during that period.

“I can’t suffer from depression because of bullies. I’ve learnt to stand up for myself. I’ve been bullied from a young age and I’ve grown a thick skin.
“So, when someone swears at me on social media, I swear back. That helps me because I don’t get angry or hurt,” she said.
The funny reality TV star said accepting her condition helped her become a celebrity.
“God has a purpose with my life. He made me live with this condition, which some people see as a curse. But it works for me now.
“I was featured on Short and Sweet, which made me a TV star. My condition is putting food on the table. It takes care of my bills.
“When I’m not in front of the cameras, I’m at an event as an MC. So, while others are making fun of me, calling me ugly, dwarf and magogo, I’m busy making money through this condition that I’m living with,” said Vovo.
