WALLOWA, OR – A Wallowa man was one of five people arrested in an undercover child predator sting conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on May 15.
David Vichi, 49, of Wallowa, was taken into custody after investigators say he arranged to meet someone he believed was a minor for sex. Instead, he was met by law enforcement and arrested.
Vichi was already under investigation after a real minor came forward in early April with allegations of inappropriate contact. That case led investigators to include him in the sting. He is facing charges of luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child.
Also arrested in the operation were:
* Raymi Calla-McFarlane, 24, of Portland
* Karl Bawden, 45, of Hillsboro
* Glen Guthrie, 65, of Gladstone
* Josue Romero-Lopez, 25, of Beaverton
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon conducts these types of operations regularly in an effort to identify child predators before they can harm actual children.
