WARETOWN, NJ — Residents looking for tips on avoiding online scams can attend a free presentation next month at the Waretown Branch of the Ocean County Library.
The program, “Fraud Watch: Vigilance Against Cybercrime,” is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, according to the library announcement. The event will focus on ways to protect personal information in everyday online activity.
In the announcement, the library said, “In today’s fast-paced online environment, protecting your personal information is more crucial than ever.”
The workshop “is designed to empower you with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world safely,” according to the announcement.
Topics listed for the presentation include staying safe in public and at home, using social media, and shopping and banking online.
The event will be presented by the AARP NJ Speakers Bureau. It will take place at the Waretown branch, 112 Main Street.
Registration is required for the free program. According to the announcement, registration opens March 27.
