The accreditation evaluates policies, procedures, training, screening practices, supervision standards and overall risk management. Organizations that earn it have met comprehensive standards designed to strengthen safeguards and enhance accountability.
“We pursued Praesidium Accreditation because child protection is an active, deeply ingrained part of our daily culture,” said Abby Tesch, vice president of operations. “This rigorous, independent review ensures that our team is trained to the highest national standards and that our facility remains a gold standard for youth safety in the greater Wausau area.”
The process involves an in-depth review of all operations related to abuse prevention and safety. Through staff training, background screening, clear policies, reporting procedures and ongoing evaluation, the Woodson YMCA works to ensure child protection remains a shared responsibility throughout the organization.
