Daytona CEO Ivan Burazin on Clouds for Agents and the Looming CPU Crunch
Artificial intelligence agents will soon vastly outnumber human users as consumers of computing resources, forcing infrastructure providers and application developers to rethink systems designed around human behavior and scale, said Ivan Burazin, co-founder and CEO of Daytona.

Today’s cloud was built largely for static applications, not for agents that repeatedly edit and rerun code. Agents also hand off routine work from graphics processing units to central processing units. “And so when we get these many agents, the number of CPUs we will need to offload that work from the GPUs is going to be staggering. And because of that, we already see the CPU crunch happening,” Burazin said.
The industry lacks enough CPUs and GPUs to serve agents at the scale envisioned, so developers must find ways to compress agent workloads in both software and hardware.
