LAUREL, Mont. – An operation from Texas-based video creators “Predator Poachers” helped lead to the arrest of a local man and 11 counts of child sexual abuse charges brought against him.
According to court documents, the Laurel Police Department received a call on August 10, 2025 stating that Predator Poachers, a Youtube group, were speaking with 33-year-old Tieler Randy Wells at a reisdence on Topeka Drive. Police were informed that Wells had been communicating online with who he believed was an underage girl, but was actually an adult member of the Predator Poachers.
Court documents say police were also told that Wells had send nude photographs to the individual, believing them to be a minor, and that he was speaking voluntarily with the Predator Poachers and admitted to their accusations.
“The group, Predator Poachers, were not directed in any manner by Laurel Police Department to conduct their ‘investigation’ or actions in this case,” according to LPD in court documents.
When police arrived at the scene, Wells made statements to suggest there were pictures and videos of underage girls of an inappropriate nature on his personal tablet. Officers reviewed the contents of the tablet with Wells’ consent and found hundreds of photographs.
Speaking with officers at the police station, Wells admitted to sending sexual comments over the internet and indicated that he targeted families after seeing photos they posted of their children online.
Wells was charged with 11 counts of felony sexual abuse of children. A jury trial is scheduled for February 2026.
