On May 26 at General McLane High School Auditorium the Pennsylvania State Police will be hosting a Roblox Safety and Online Predators event. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event with the event starting at 6 p.m.
This presentation is to give parents and community members the proper tools to understand online environments that children can be exposed to today. The event will focus on Roblox and other social platforms.
Those in attendance will be able to learn how these platforms work, what the appeal of these sites is, and how online predators will try to exploit in-game chat, friend systems, and even external apps.
During the presentation common grooming tactics, warning signs of children interacting with an unsafe individual, and real-world examples of how predators move conversations from games to other platforms where they use violence, sextortion, and more.
