A hacker tied to Drift Protocol (DRIFT) has resumed activity after about three months.
BlockBeats, citing Onchain Lens data, reported on July 23 that an address linked to the Drift hacker has been transferring Ether (ETH) to Tornado Cash, a cryptocurrency mixing protocol. The fund transfers were the hacker’s first in the past three months.
The hacker deposited 100 Ether at a time into the Tornado Cash router. The transfers were executed repeatedly, several times a minute.
Drift suffered a $285.3 million hack in April. Along with the $291.3 million Kelp DAO hack, it was one of the largest cryptocurrency hacks of the first half.
Tornado Cash is a protocol that mixes cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal records, making it difficult to trace links between fund flows and transaction counterparties.
