SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) – A woman who ran a dance team for a middle school reportedly exposed children to a pedophile and was sentenced to more than a decade in prison, according to Sumner County District Attorney General Thomas Dean.

Stacy Gann Alessio, 46, was convicted by a jury in June of exposing two children to a man she knew was a child molester, resulting in the rape and sexual abuse of those children.

A pattern of concealment

During her trial, Assistant District Attorney Generals Nathan Nichols and Tara Wyllie presented evidence that in 2006, Stacy walked in on her then-husband Christopher Howard Alessio, sexually abusing a child who had been living in the couple’s home in White House, Tennessee.

Rather than reporting Alessio’s activities, Alessio threw the child out of her home, and when the child reported the abuse to family members later, Stacy failed to confirm that the victim’s allegations were true.

While Stacy and Christopher were going through a divorce in 2013, Stacy sent a message to the 2006 victim and apologized for not protecting her and acknowledged the accusations made by the victim were true.

In 2017, Stacy and the 2006 victim had another conversation on Facebook where Stacy provided more information about what she witnessed Christopher doing to the victim.

She told the victim that having her presence in their home was “like waving meat in front of a hungry carnivore” and that Stacy knew Christopher might be “dumb enough to take it.”

Preteen sleepovers and summer assaults

By 2022, Stacy and Christopher relocated to Hendersonville and were cohabitating, but not remarried.

During that time, Stacy and Christopher were active in their neighborhood and hosted parties and sleepovers in their home for preteen girls.

Stacy was also running a dance team associated with a local middle school at the time.

On multiple occasions, during the summer of 2022, Christopher raped and sexually molested two of the children who were spending the night in the couple’s home, resulting in his October 2022 arrest after one of the victims disclosed what he did to her.

Past messages uncovered

After Christopher’s arrest, his 2006 victim came forward and shared Stacy’s messages with law enforcement.

In 2025, a jury convicted Christopher of more than 25 felony counts related to the sexual abuse of six children, including his 2006 victim. He was later sentenced to 162 years in prison, without the possibility of parole or early release.

Stacy was sentenced to 12 years in prison without the possibility of probation, parole or early release.
