ROCKFORD, Ill. (Rockford News First) – UW Health invited the public to its third kid’s safety fair Saturday.

UW Health Women and Children’s Services Director Jennifer Callison says the event brings together child safety experts so families can learn the best tips and advice for their children.

Families learned about a variety of safety topics including police, fire and swimming.

“It’s an important thing especially for parents and kids, but also to be familiar with our resources; for them to meet the police and meet the fireman, learn about safe sleep, safe car seats, safe bike riding,” said Callison. “It’s really important for kids to be able to learn but have fun while they’re learning.”
