PHOENIX (KVOA) — Attorney General Kris Mayes is taking legal action to force Roblox Corporation to comply with an ongoing child safety investigation. The Attorney General’s Office filed a petition in court to compel the gaming company to produce critical documents and data regarding the safety of Arizona children on the platform. The state is also seeking an order to hold Roblox in contempt until it fully complies.According to the petition, the state issued civil investigative demands in May and August 2026 to evaluate if Roblox violated the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act. Investigators are looking into whether the company failed to protect minors from sexual exploitation, violent content and other age-inappropriate material, and if it misrepresented safety issues to parents.
AG Mayes takes Roblox to court over child safety concerns

“Roblox has built one of the world’s largest online platforms for children in the world, and Roblox has continually assured parents that the platform is safe,” Mayes said. “But the evidence already available to our office indicates a disturbing litany of dangers to Arizona children—ranging from predatory contact to exposure to graphic violent and sexual content.”State officials say the platform’s user base includes hundreds of thousands of Arizona minors. Despite repeated extensions, Roblox has allegedly failed to provide core information about its safety systems and content moderation.Parents who believe their child was exposed to harmful content can file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office online or by calling the Consumer Information and Complaints Unit in Phoenix at 602-542-5763; in Tucson at 520- 628-6648; and outside of the metro Phoenix area at 800-352-8431.News 4 Tucson reached out to Roblox for a response and we are waiting to hear back.
