Robert Erdei pleaded guilty to 22 counts of sexual offences against a child between October 2024 to December 2024Husna Anjum Senior Live News Reporter17:05, 08 Nov 2026Robert Erdei(Image: Greater Manchester Police)A vile monster was jailed after committing 22 sexual offences against a child over a three month period.Robert Erdei of Leigh was sentenced to five years and seven months at Liverpool Crown Court on November 6.Erdei pleaded guilty to 22 counts of sexual offences against a child over an offending period from October 2024 to December 2024. The charges included 13 counts of sexual activity with a child and eight counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.Another charge was one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.Greater Manchester Police reported that he was arrested on suspicion of child sex offences against a child under the age of 16 after a report by a partner agency. Investigators identified evidence of a range of sexual offending and submitted a case file to the CPS.Detective Sergeant Pyke, of our Child Protection Investigation Unit based in Wigan, said: “My thoughts remain with the survivor concerned in this horrific case and their family. Erdei has showed clear intent and wilfully engaged in sexual offending against the most vulnerable of victims, a child.“Protecting children will always be the highest priority at GMP and we will always take the strongest possible action where allegations of this nature are made.”Greater Manchester Police can be contacted via 101 or through the Live Chat function on the website.
