Robert Erdei, 20, of Leigh was sentenced to five years and seven months at Liverpool Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to 13 counts of sexual activity with a childRobert Erdei of Leigh was sentenced to five years and seven months (Image: Greater Manchester Police)A predator who committed multiple sexual offences against a child has been jailed for his sickening crimes.Robert Erdei of Leigh was sentenced to five years and seven months at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday 6 November 2026.Erdei pleaded guilty to 22 counts of sexual offences against a child – the offences took place between October 2024 to December 2024, the trial heard.The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of child sex offences against a child under the age of 16 after a report by a partner agency.Investigators identified evidence of a range of sexual offending and submitted a case file to the CPS.Erdei pleaded guilty to 13 counts of sexual activity with a child, eight counts of causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.Detective Sergeant Pyke, of our Child Protection Investigation Unit based in Wigan, said: “My thoughts remain with the survivor concerned in this horrific case and their family.“Erdei has showed clear intent and wilfully engaged in sexual offending against the most vulnerable of victims, a child.“Protecting children will always be the highest priority at GMP and we will always take the strongest possible action where allegations of this nature are made.”
