BOSTON — A registered sex offender from Dracut has pleaded guilty to child pornography and firearm charges after federal agents searching his home last year found a stolen handgun, child sexual abuse material and Nazi‑themed relics.
Documents filed in federal court state prosecutors agreed to a plea deal for 30-year-old Tyler Bullock that includes 10 years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Leah Foley’s office said Bullock surfaced during a federal probe into an India‑based operation suspected of distributing CSAM. A complaint filed by a special agent with the Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service states that investigators traced multiple payments he allegedly sent to accounts tied to the network, prompting agents to execute a search warrant at his Dracut home — where he lives alone — in November.
He was advised of his Miranda rights, which he waived in writing before agreeing to speak with investigators.
Bullock initially denied purchasing CSAM, but according to the complaint, he later admitted “he did make those specific purchases (and others) but did so with the intent of obtaining ‘uncensored’ war footage rather than CSAM.” He allegedly acknowledged receiving links through the Telegram messaging app that contained child pornography, claiming he deleted the material when it appeared in response to his solicitations for war footage.
Bullock told agents he had been molested as a child and was searching for footage of himself online. The complaint states he said he had paid for material involving boys around 11 years old.
A forensic review of his devices uncovered videos and photographs depicting both real and artificial intelligence-generated CSAM.
The complaint states that agents also discovered a cache of weapons and Nazi memorabilia inside the home. A Ruger P85 9mm pistol — loaded with a magazine containing several rounds — was found hidden in a small safe beneath a bedroom rug. The firearm was later determined to have been reported stolen while in transit from New Hampshire to Arizona.
Investigators also located a knife marked with Schutzstaffel lightning bolts and a swastika, a copy of “Mein Kampf,” 42 rounds of ammunition, and a partially assembled rifle surrounded by World War II‑era German medals, patches and other Nazi‑symbolic items.
Bullock is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2016 Lowell District Court conviction for purchase or possession of child pornography. He acknowledged during the search that he was not allowed to have the weapon and claimed he had been holding it for someone else.
Bullock pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. According to federal prosecutors, the child pornography charge — because it follows a prior conviction — carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to 20 years in prison, while the firearm charge carries a maximum of 15 years.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors said they will seek a sentence of 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release, special assessments of up to $40,000 unless Bullock is unable to pay, a mandatory $200 special assessment — which he must pay — and restitution to be determined at sentencing.
Judge Myong Joun is scheduled to sentence Bullock on Dec. 2.
Bullock is classified as a sex offender, though his name does not appear on the state’s public Sex Offender Registry. That absence indicates he has been designated a Level 1 offender, which is a classification for individuals considered at low risk of reoffense or danger to the public, according to the Sex Offender Registry Board. Information about Level 1 offenders is not made available for public viewing, unlike Level 2 and Level 3 offenders whose records are posted online.
Bullock’s attorney, Cara McNamara, was not immediately available for comment.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Justice Department initiative aimed at identifying, prosecuting and disrupting child exploitation networks.
