TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is putting his record on child predators, human trafficking and missing children front and center in a new statewide television ad as he campaigns for a full term as Florida’s attorney general.
The 30-second ad, the second of Uthmeier’s campaign cycle, focuses heavily on protecting children and families, with Uthmeier pointing to more than 2,000 child predator arrests, efforts targeting human traffickers and drug cartels and the recovery of hundreds of missing children.
Uthmeier campaign manager Brittany McGivern said the ad highlights the attorney general’s work alongside law enforcement and his focus on protecting Florida families.
“Florida families are safer because James Uthmeier is their Attorney General,” McGivern said. “Working alongside local law enforcement, he’s locked up more than 2,000 child predators, taken down drug cartels, and taken on Big Tech to protect our kids. For James Uthmeier, protecting Florida families isn’t politics. It’s the job.”
In the ad, Uthmeier connects that record to his role as a father.
“I’m Attorney General James Uthmeier, Florida’s chief law enforcement officer, but a dad first,” Uthmeier says in the ad.
Uthmeier says that responsibility has shaped his approach to the office, rather than politics.
“That’s why we’ve arrested over 2,000 child predators, taken down more human traffickers and drug cartels than ever, rescued over 400 missing children and sued Big Tech for endangering more kids,” he says.
Protecting children has been a recurring focus of Uthmeier’s tenure since he took office in February 2025.
In June, Uthmeier’s office announced the arrests of 58 people accused of seeking sexual activity with children during a five-day operation in Marion County. The attorney general’s office said at the time that the operation brought the number of alleged child predators arrested since Uthmeier took office to nearly 1,700.
Uthmeier has also worked with state, local and federal law enforcement on large-scale operations targeting missing and exploited children.
In August, Uthmeier and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the recovery of 163 missing children during Operation Statewide Shield, the first state-led statewide child recovery initiative. The children ranged in age from 2 months to 17 years old.
That operation followed the recovery of 122 missing children during Operation Home for the Holidays in late 2025, an effort led by the U.S. Marshals Service and involving Uthmeier’s office and other law enforcement partners.
Uthmeier has simultaneously targeted technology companies over child safety concerns. His office has pursued investigations and legal action involving online platforms.
Earlier this month, Uthmeier sued Netflix, alleging the company collected data from children’s profiles and later used information gathered from subscribers to build its advertising business.
Uthmeier closes the new ad by connecting those specific actions to his broader public safety message of protecting families.
“I will always fight to get dangerous criminals off the streets and protect our families,” Uthmeier says. “It’s not politics, it’s the job.”
The commercial will air on television statewide, according to the campaign.
Uthmeier, a Republican, is seeking a full term as attorney general after being appointed to the position in February 2025. He is facing Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez in the Nov. 3 general election.
