Fans are hilariously requesting money from MJF after his X/Twitter account got hacked.
New AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) has become the victim of a cyberattack after his X/Twitter account got hacked. The hackers posted a couple of tweets, which fans noticed were clearly investment scams. Several fans also reported receiving messages from MJF’s account requesting money.
However, the Salt of the Earth turned the security breach into a fun fan engagement after regaining control of his account. He posted about his account getting hacked and apologized to anyone who received the messages. He then proceeded to sarcastically share his Venmo information, mocking those who were “dumb as fu*k enough” to fall for the scam to send him cash instead.
“My Twitter got hacked. If you were messaged by me that I needed money, my apologies. However if you were messaged by me and you were dumb as fu*k enough to believe that. My Venmo information is below.”
However, fans seized this opportunity to turn the tables on the AEW World Champion. They used MJF’s Venmo information to flood him with hilarious money requests, with some saying he owed them after he won the title at World’s End.
MJF then posted a hilarious reply saying, “STOP REQUESTING MONEY!!!!,” and shared the screenshot of some of the outrageous money requests.
MJF Implies AEW Critics Are In WWE’s Pocket
Speaking to Brandon Walker on Mostly Sports, MJF opened up about what he feels is a double standard in wrestling journalism. He said some journalists don’t give enough credit to AEW, irrespective of how well the company performs. He then noted that it almost seems like they are in a certain company’s pocket, possibly referring to WWE.
After making Brandon Walker agree that AEW has done a great job in 2025, MJF said, “Normally, journalists, no matter how many tickets we sell, no matter how many pay-per-view buys we get, no matter how many top acts we have, they’re not able to say what you just said. It’s almost as if they’re chasing a hug from a certain company.
“It’s odd. I can’t comprehend it. Because, when WWE does good stuff, fu*k it, I’m sitting here right now. I’m the first person to say congratulations and kudos. But for some reason, for some strange fuc*ing reason, it’s almost as if there’s certain journalists that are in a certain company’s pocket. It’s just odd,” MJF said.
