Georgia’s security report highlights co-op with Azerbaijan

Georgia’s State Security Service has presented its annual report to parliament, giving special attention to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of security.

According to Report, the 62-page document will first be discussed in committee sessions and later in a plenary meeting.

The document states that Georgia’s security agency continues information exchange and coordination not only with international partners but also with Azerbaijan and other regional countries.

Under the document, the Baku Security Forum held this year was one of the key platforms for cooperation. The forum hosted meetings among intelligence agencies from several countries and discussions on security issues.

It emphasizes that international events and working meetings in Baku played an important role in assessing regional security risks, combating terrorism, and strengthening cooperation against hybrid threats.

Georgia’s State Security Service leadership held meetings with representatives of security agencies from about 10 partner countries, discussing the regional security environment, risk assessments, and cooperation.

The document also notes that Georgia and Azerbaijan continue cooperation in security, border management, and law enforcement in various formats, with ties to Azerbaijan highlighted as a key direction.

The State Security Service stresses that regional cooperation, particularly coordinated activity along the Baku–Tbilisi line, contributes to strengthening stability and security in the South Caucasus.
