“The US$1000 restituted by the convict is forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria,” the judge held.
Additionally, she stated that the laptop confiscated from Okusanya should be auctioned and the proceeds sent to the Federation Account.
Earlier, the EFCC Prosecutor, Mr A.S. Suleiman, had told the court that the convict committed the crime on Aug. 14, 2025, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun.
Revealing the facts through the EFCC investigator, Uchenna Ogechi, he said that Okusanya was arrested with an HP laptop, defrauding unsuspecting foreigners of their hard-earned money.
Suleiman tendered the incriminating documents printed out of the convict’s fictitious email address and the 1,000 dollar found in his possession as an exhibit before the court. (NAN)
