GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A registered sex offender has been arrested for working near children.
Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver announced that 70-year-old Warren Spence Perry has violated the conditions of his probation for a 2023 Sexual Exploitation of a Minor conviction for a crime committed in 2020.
A complaint on Monday sparked an investigation for Perry, due to him volunteering at Pawleys Island Community Church because the church operates an elementary School, preschool, and nursery.
Investigators contacted South Carolina Probation, Parole, and Pardon, which arrested Perry on Tuesday afternoon and charged him with violation of probation.
