VISALIA, CA. (FOX26) — A child sexual predator is now behind bars in Visalia.
This is after a nationwide group that targets online child predators says one of its latest stings led to an arrest in Tulare County.
Alex Rosen with Predator Poachers has caught sexual predators in all 50 states.
Last month, he and his team were in Visalia, where they caught 27-year-old Benny Ma, who was trying to meet with an 11-year-old.
An investigation into 27-year-old Benny Ma began when members of Predators Poachers posed as both a parent and an 11-year-old child online.
So over the past couple of months, he messaged this mom, under the assumption she had an 11-year-old kid, and also messaged her 11-year-old kid’s account.
“He was very, very sexual with both accounts, wanted to do evil things to the kid, talked about two times that he’s molested other children, and came and also showed his penis via the messages or on a video call to the 11-year-old girl,” said Alex Rosen with Predator Poachers.
Ma, allegedly arranged to meet with the mother and daughter in Fresno, then drive to a home in Visalia on March 24th.
He then ran out of the house, threatening to kill himself.
“He admitted to possessing child sexual content on his phone. He said over 200 images would have been on his phone. He had watched videos of babies being raped,” said Rosen.
Visalia police got involved.
“We, of course, called cops, and cops saw some of this evidence and took him in on that. And we gave cops everything. Visalia was very receptive to our evidence,” said Rosen.
He says this is one of many, and hopes he gets more sexual predators off the street.
“Well, I’m very grateful for the team we have. You know, I know I’m the face of it, but they do such a good job with everything. They do such a good job with evidence gathering,” said Rosen.
Ma now faces a slew of charges, including contacting a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts, and is being held with a bond of $495,000.
